Gomophia egeriae is a starfish from the Ophidiasteridae family.

Description

Gomophia egeriae is a starfish with a diameter of 12 cm, arms included. The arms are stocky, cylindrical with a planar ventral surface. The central disk and the arms are covered with conical tubercles more or less pointed. The coloring of the body is extremely variable, with multiple local forms, and sometimes the cohabitation in the same site of very different forms but relatively homogeneous. The base of large conical tubercles is usually ringed with white and black.
