Ostorhinchus multilineatus is a species of cardinalfishes native to the Western Pacific Ocean.
Description
Characterized by whitish body color. Numerous thin lines on body and thick bands through eye and below. Sometimes a small black peduncular spot. Juvenile with fewer, wider brown stripes and pronounced black spot at middle of caudal fin base; greatest depth of body 2.9-3.2 in SL.
Distribution
Western Pacific.
Habitat and Biology
Found in deep and shallow lagoons with coral heads. Solitary or in small groups. Mouthbrooders. Distinct pairing during courtship and spawning.
