Flabellina exoptata is a species of colourful sea slug, a nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Flabellinidae.
Other names: Much-desired Flabellina.

Description

Flabellina exoptata is typically about 30 millimetres (1.2 in) in length when mature but can reach 48 millimetres (1.9 in). The body of this species is translucent violet but the red-orange color of the gonad may give it an orange hue. The cerata are translucent basally with deep purple bands at the midpoint and white apexes. The white pigment often shades to blue at their tips. The rhinophores are deep orange with densely packed papillae on their posterior margins.

Distribution

Flabellina exoptata is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific.
