Epimenia is a genus of cavibelonian solenogasters, a kind of shell-less, worm-like mollusks. During the development of species in this genus, the sclerites start out as solid tips, then a hollow stalk develops that is subsequently infilled.

Description

Coloration is pink with white rings of different widths. With epidermal papillae. Mouth within common atrio-buccal cavity. Ventral foregut glandular organs with pre-radular outlet. Midgut without regular constrictions. With a pair of pharyngeal ganglia, buccal ganglia vestigial. Secondary genital opening unpaired. Without copulatory stylets. With dorsoterminal sense organ. Without respiratory organs.

Indo-Pacific Ocean.

Habitat

It is found in shallow water. It is nocturnal, hiding under rocks near their prey during the day, often in great numbers. It is specialized on nephtheid corals, particularly Scleronephthya.
