Siganus puelloides is a species of perciform fishes in the family Siganidae (Rabbitfishes or Spinefoots).
Description
Body is pale blue undercolor with close-set yellow spots and silvery white below. It has dark markings under chin and dark area around eyes. That are remnants of a chin to eye band on juveniles. Its spines are stout, pungent and venomous. Dorsal spines: 13. Dorsal soft rays: 10. Anal spines: 7. Anal soft rays: 9. Vertebrae: 1.
Distribution
Indian Ocean from Seychelles and Maldives to the Andaman Sea.
Habitat
Adults live in pairs around rocks and coral reefs and feed on sessile colonial tunicates, monaxonid sponges, and benthic algae. Juveniles live in groups.
