Eviota sp is a species of fish in the goby family, Gobiidae.

Descritption

Body is translucent grey color; presence of red mid-lateral body stripe; upper head with whitish blue stripes; interrupted white stripe on back; lower anterior body with two rows of white spots; first five dorsal spines frequently prolonged in male; all pectoral rays unbranched; longitudinal scale series 21-23; ctenoid scales, absent on head, nape and base of pectoral fin; separated pelvic fins, thin membrane joining bases; 4-5 branches on fourth pelvic ray; depth of body 3.9-4.8 in SL.

Distribution

Indonesia.

Habitat

Solitary on sand at base of coral overhangs. Specimens collected from sand or sand and rubble substrata.
