Chrysiptera talboti is a species of damselfish. It is a marine fish from the eastern Indian Ocean and western Pacific.
Other names: Talbot's Damselfish.

Description

This fish reaches 6 cm in length. It has a purplish to grey body. It has a yellow head, yellow ventral fins, and a large black spot at the back of its dorsal fin.

Distribution

Western Pacific: Andaman Sea in the eastern Indian Ocean to Fiji, north to Palau, south to the southern Great Barrier Reef.

Habitat

Adults inhabit coral-rich areas of seaward reef slopes and deep lagoons. Feed on zooplankton a short distance from the bottom. Usually seen solitary on mixed coral and rubble patches. Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding. Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate. Males guard and aerate the eggs. Diurnal species.
