Pomacentrus auriventris is a damselfish from the Western Central Pacific. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a size of 5.5 cm in length.

Description

It has a bright blue body with yellow on the belly, caudal peduncle and tail. Dorsal spines (total): 13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 14 - 15.

Distribution

Western Central Pacific: Micronesia to Indonesia.

Habitat

Inhabits inner reef slopes having rubble, coral and algae at depths between 6 to about 100 feet (2 – 30 m) and feed mainly on zooplankton, benthic invertebrates and algae.
